Global Oral Health Day was started in 2007 to encourage more people world wide to take care of their teeth and gums and realise the importance of good oral hygene.

It is shocking that here in the UK 170 children have teeth extracted in hospital every single day!

40% of children never visit a dentist.

A third of children starting primary school already have tooth decay.

The UK has the highest consumption of sugary drinks than anywhere else in Europe.

The Good News

You can take charge of your oral health very simply by avoiding snacking on sugary foods and drinks, and for adults cut out tobacco and alcohol too.

Eat fruit as a snack

Clean your teeth twice a day

Change your toothbrush every few months as they do wear down
