What is Cinco de Mayo?

Cinco De Mayo (5th of May) is the day that celebrates the culture, achievement and experiences of people of Mexican background.

Originally it was observed to commemorate the Battle Of Peubla where the Mexican army led by General Ignacio Zaragoza took victory over the French forces on 5th May 1862.

In Mexico itself special dishes are served on this day;

Mole pablano

Chalupas

Chiles En Nogada

In USA and other places;

All types of Mexican food are eated on this day

Quesadillas

Burritos

Guacamole

Tortilla Soup

Beef or chicken fajitas
