The British Food Fortnight runs at the same time as our traditional harvest festivals as this is when we all should be giving thanks for the natural food we eat. The celebration itself was established in 2002 in the wake of the dreadful foot and mouth disease outbreak and promotes buying and eating food from our home produced British larder.
