BRAZIL

Home of the Olympic Games for 2016 in the city of Rio De Jeneiro. Brazil has a population of over 201 people and the capitol city is called Brazillia. The language spoken is Portuguese. Brazil is the world's 5th largest country and covers 3 different time zones.

FOOD OF BRAZIL

FEIJOADA is a rich stew made from black beans, sausages and pork. It is served either with rice or manioc which is a woody root vegetable that is either boiled or fried.

MOQUECA is a fish stew made in a clay pot with tomatoes, onions and coriander.

PAO DE QUEIJO These are cheesy bread rolls made with the cheese actually miced into the dough. They are made with tapioca flour, eggs and grated queijo minas (cows milk cheese). Often eaten either for breakfast or as a snack.

ACARAJE is deep fried black eyed peas and onions sliced open and then stuffed with dried shrimp, bread and nuts.

QUINDIM is a yellow custard type pudding made from eggs, sugar and coconut.

EMPANADAS are deep fried pies filled with meat or vegetables.

PASTEL are thin deep fried pastries filled with chicken, shrimps, mozzarella and palm hearts.

BRIGADIEROS are chocolate truffles made with condensed milk and cocao powder and then rolled in chocolate sprinkles.

ACAI This berry is a superfood and is often whizzed up into a sorbet or smoothie.

PAPAYA a tropical fruit native to this country.

EATING IN BRAZIL

Lunch is the biggest meal of the day in Brazil. They love to BBQ and eat a lot of fresh fruit.
